When moving, the existing contract must be properly terminated. An invoice can only be cancelled if the move-out date (end of tenancy) falls before the start of the invoiced insurance period.
If this is not the case, the invoice must be paid first. After the landlord releases the surety bond, goCaution will refund the unused premium on a pro-rata basis.
Example: move-out date 31.03.2026, insurance period 01.05.2025–30.06.2026 → refund of 4 monthly premiums.
