For your rental deposit surety bond to be terminated, your landlord must notify goCaution of the release. To do so, they can complete and sign the surety certificate and request the termination in writing (by email or post).
Please note that tenancy law permits the landlord to retain the security deposit for up to 12 months after move-out if they wish to assert legitimate claims.
If you leave the rental property exactly at the end of a current insurance period, you can send us a copy of the landlord's cancellation confirmation so that we can cancel the next premium invoice.
Should you leave the rental property during an insurance period that has not yet commenced, we kindly ask you to settle the premium invoice upon receipt. After the landlord has terminated the rental deposit policy, we will refund the overpaid premium on a pro-rata basis or credit the balance to any other active policy.
